The cause of the explosions in occupied Sevastopol on 29 October could be the unsuccessful launches of air defence missiles by Russians, the head of the joint press centre of the Operational Command South, Natalya Humenyuk, has told the telethon, as reported by NV.
The host asked Humenyuk whether reports about the alleged destruction of three ships carrying Kalibr missiles are true.
"Currently, there is no official confirmation, but there is a clear understanding that if they fear 'combat insects' and the use of an aggressive air defence system against them, there may be a completely opposite reaction. Therefore, when mosquitoes are hit by S-300, for example, these missiles have a very great destructive power and they destroy what is actually to blame for creating this situation," she said, referring to the empty allegations by Russia's Permanent Representative to the UN Vasily Nebenzya.
On 28 October, he claimed that Russians allegedly found drones in Ukraine that could "spread mosquitoes infected with dangerous viruses".
Later, the Russian Defence Ministry also reported "minor damage" to the minesweeper Ivan Golubets and the fence in Pivdenna Bay.
