Ukrainian Infrastructure Minister Oleksandr Kubrakov has said it is impossible to export grain due to the blocking of the "grain corridor" by Russia.
Kubrakov noted that the Ikaria Angel ship with 40,000 tonnes of grain for Ethiopia under the UN World Food Programme could not leave a Ukrainian port on Sunday, 30 October, as planned, due to Russia's actions.
"These products were intended for Ethiopians on the verge of famine. But due to the blocking of the 'grain corridor' by Russia, their export is impossible," he said on Twitter.
Yesterday, Russia announced its withdrawal from the "grain deal" allegedly because of the "attack on the Black Sea Fleet ships".
"Taking into account the terrorist attack against the ships of the Black Sea Fleet and civilian vessels involved in ensuring the security of the grain corridor, carried out on 29 October by the Kyiv regime with the participation of British specialists, the Russian side stops participating in the implementation of agreements on the export of agricultural products from Ukrainian ports," the Russian Defence Ministry said.
The European Union called on Russia to resume the "grain deal".
Ukrainian Foreign Minister Dmytro Kuleba said that Russia planned to disrupt the grain deal in advance and is now trying to justify it.
