Residents of population centres in Chernihiv Region located close to the border are advised to consider moving from a potentially vulnerable territory, the head of the Chernihiv regional military administration, Vyacheslav Chaus, has said.
"We've had some practice of such moves in Novhorod-Siverskyy District. Peole who want to relocate within the district should contact the district military administration," he said.
He added that the district administration would help with finding temporary accommodation and move.
The authorities decided to suggest that people consider moving after last week alone the region was hit 234 times by Russian fire, whereas a week earlier 87 "hits" were recorded.
Chaus noted that the region was expecting to receive another batch of foreign aid for a diving rescue station. Also, the first lorry with construction materials has arrived within the framework of cooperation with France. Generators, laptops and other things are on the way.
