Kyiv, as well as Kyiv and Kharkiv regions are currently facing the most difficult situation in terms of power supply, Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal has said at a government meeting.
"Russian terrorist troops targeted the distribution [facilities] in these regions, trying to destroy the main lines and substations. Now power engineers are working to gradually make outage schedules more predictable for people and businesses," he said.
Shmyhal added that the Russians are currently focused on the destruction of electricity generation and distribution systems. The Cabinet of Ministers does not rule out further attacks on water and heat supply systems.
He suggested schedules of power outages could be made more predictable if there were no new damages and energy saving continued.
Ukrenergo expects the situation with power supply to improve in a few days if there are no new attacks.
