Today's Russian shelling of energy facilities in Ukraine is the most massive in the entire war. This attack may have an impact on the energy system not only of Ukraine but also of its neighbours, Energy Minister Herman Halushchenko has said on Facebook.

He noted that the entire Ukrainian power system - both generation and transmission facilities – came under attack.

"Emergency shutdowns have been introduced. After defeats in the military and international arenas, the enemy makes another attempt of terrorist revenge and tries to inflict maximum damage to our power system on the eve of winter. I ask everyone to acknowledge the critical situation with energy supply, to remain calm and trust power engineers and the Armed Forces," he said.

Among the regions that were hit by Russia today are Lviv, Khmelnytskyy, Rivne, Kyiv and Odesa. Residential buildings were hit in Kyiv. About 90% of Ternopil Region was left without power supply.
