Ukraine has received another Zuzana-2 Howitzer self-propelled artillery system from Slovakia, Slovak Defence Minister Jaroslav Nad said on Twitter.
“Glad to confirm that already 7th Zuzana 2 Howitzer was delivered to Ukrainian armed forces and is ready to protect innocent lives,” he wrote.
The Zuzana 2 is an upgrade of the previous version of the 155 mm Zuzana. In 2018, the Slovak Army purchased 25 artillery systems. They were handed over to the army in July 2021 to replace the previous generation.
The artillery is capable of firing at a maximum distance of 41 kilometres. The tower can turn 360 degrees, and thanks to automation, the number of crew members has been reduced from four to three. At the same time, the howitzer has an automatic charging system that allows firing in the MRSI mode - several missiles will hit one target simultaneously.
