Some 70% of residents left Nikopol, where about 110,000 people lived, the head of the Dnipropetrovsk regional council, Mykola Lukashuk, has said, according to ZN.ua.

"Almost 70% of people have left Nikopol. They went to other communities. The shelling is carried out from the territory of Enerhodar across the Dnipro river. The distance between Enerhodar and Nikopol is from 4 to 19 km," he said.

Lukashuk noted that large enterprises continue to work in Nikopol and that people receive relatively higher salaries. "People leave [the city] for the night and return to work during the day," he added.

On the night of 18 November, just like nearly every day, Russian troops shelled Dnipropetrovsk Region with multiple rocket launchers. They fired more than 40 shells on the city.
