The Ukrainian Witness project showed the city of Kherson, which had been under Russian occupation for more than eight months.

The video released by the project shows footage from de-occupied Kherson. Patrol police are currently working in the city: law enforcement officers respond to citizens' appeals, including those about disguised Russians who still remain in the city.

According to locals, the occupiers are trying to find food, looking for clothes to change and escape. Often they give themselves away because they do not know the area or the local way of life. Thus, one woman told about men who did not know that the fare in Kherson buses is fixed.

Now with the return of the Ukrainian flag, civilization is also coming back to the city, and Kherson is gradually coming to life. Generators are working at the station, mobile communication and the Internet are already available in some places. There is also a humanitarian corridor functioning where anyone can receive medical assistance. According to the station administration, works on restoring the track are currently underway.

The locals also told how the Russians treated Ukrainians. In particular, during anti-Russian rallies, they would open fire on civilians, could put bags on their heads, take them over the Antonivskyy Bridge, and abandon them there. One of the guys was detained several times and the longest time he stayed in captivity was three months.

Today Ukrzaliznytsya launches a train from Kyiv to Kherson. The first one will depart today at 22:14 from the capital, and tomorrow, approximately at 09:00, the train will be in Kherson. It will carry about 200 passengers who have purchased a "ticket to victory".
