Two more embassies of Ukraine, in addition to the one in Spain, received threatening letters yesterday and today, Ukrinform has quoted Foreign Minister Dmytro Kuleba as saying.

According to him, the threats were "very specific", making it a targeted large-scale campaign against Ukraine abroad.

"This definitely is a new form of terror. We are working very actively with the Spanish authorities to establish who is behind it. We certainly have a guess who is behind it, but we need to trace the entire network of agents and people involved in this campaign," Kuleba stressed.

He noted that it is necessary to "fully unwind the chains: who is involved, where these chains come from, who sends them (letters - ed.)".

The Foreign Ministry, he said, would soon issue an official comment on this issue.

Spanish Defence Minister Margarita Robles said at a briefing in Odesa that in addition to the Ukrainian embassy, at least five more parcels with explosive devices were sent to the addresses of various facilities, including the Spanish Satellite Control Centre and the Torejonde Ordos base.

"I can confirm that at least five letters with explosive devices have been received. They were sent to various facilities, including the Satellite Control Centre and the Torejonde Ordos base," she said.

She noted that none of these or similar actions "will change Spain's clear decision to continue supporting Ukraine in defending its territorial integrity and sovereignty".

"We have a clear understanding that Ukraine is now fighting for a just cause," she concluded.

Yesterday, an explosion occurred at the Embassy of Ukraine in Madrid when its employee was opening a letter. This person was lightly injured and briefly hospitalized.

It was reported that Spanish Prime Minister Pedro Sanchez also received a letter with explosives, similar to those sent to the ambassador of Ukraine.
