As of 11 am on 7 December, power engineers continued to gradually restore the system after the Monday's missile attack by the occupiers. At nuclear power plants, loading the units shut down due to power grid damage to the planned parameters continues.

The situation in the east of the country remains challenging, as the enemy repeatedly shelled several energy infrastructure facilities last night while the temperature in the region reached -17C. Currently, emergency repair works are underway around the clock, Ukrenergo reported on Telegram.

"Also, repair crews are working to eliminate the consequences of the missile attack in Kyiv and Odesa regions, establishing power supply to the regions under backup schemes," the statement said.

There is still a significant deficit in the energy system. Electricity consumption limits have been introduced in all regions. In those where this limit is exceeded, emergency blackouts have been applied. Ukrenergo recommends following the messages of regional power distribution companies to get accurate information on a particular region.

"This is a forced step taken to maintain the balance in the power system. As electricity production will be restored, the limits on its consumption will also change," the company assured.

Last night, for the first time in three weeks, Russians staged a massive drone attack. Ukrainian defenders shot down 14 Shaheds and three other types of drones. In particular, the Russians attacked Zaporizhzhya and Dnipropetrovsk regions.
