President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has confirmed that there are signs that Russia is preparing for the second wave of incursion in 2023.
Speaking in an interview with French channels TF1 and LCI, he said: "Yes. We understand that they will want this. Let's say, revanchist steps. They constantly want to usurp our state, occupy our state, I think they have not yet given up such thoughts."
Zelenskyy added that it is not about the ability of Russians to attack or Ukrainians to repel.
"We are talking about the fact that they have such a desire," the president stressed.
The General Staff reported this week that the main strategic goals of Russia remain the seizure of the entire territory of Ukraine and prevention of its Euro-Atlantic integration. The Kremlin is aware that it is impossible to achieve victory in the short term, so it seeks to turn the conflict into a prolonged armed confrontation in order to exhaust Ukraine and its allies.
