The head of the Luhansk regional military administration, Serhiy Hayday, has denied reports about the liberation of Kreminna, but reported a certain advance of the Ukrainian military near this location, Radio Liberty has said.

"There was such information that even the city of Kreminna was liberated and our troops entered it. Everyone who does not communicate with our military immediately spread this information everywhere in an overly patriotic manner. In fact, there are quite heavy battles there and even when 100-500 metres is liberated, it is very difficult. Everyone who is on the frontline and communicates with the military understands the situation, understood that this information that the Ukrainian Armed Forces entered Kreminna is unreliable," he said.

At the same time, according to him, the Ukrainian military have had some success near Svatove and Kreminna.

"But the Russians have a huge amount of reserves and equipment there. They had time to mine everything. Therefore, every metre is very difficult, but still our troops are advancing a little bit," Hayday said.

It should be noted that Russian troops occupied Kreminna in Luhansk Region in April.

Russians fear the Ukrainian army's advance in Luhansk Region so they left only one pontoon crossing over the Siverskyy Donets River.
