On 12 January, President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy held a regular meeting of the Supreme Commander-in-Chief's Staff.
According to the website of the head of state, the participants of the meeting heard reports on the current situation on the main frontlines and possible actions of the enemy.
Separately, they discussed the situation in Bakhmut and Soledar.
"I emphasize: the units defending these cities will be provided with ammunition and everything necessary promptly and continuously," Zelenskyy said.
The meeting also addressed the issue of strengthening the Defence Forces with the help of equipment and weapons from partner countries.
According to the Defence Ministry, heavy fighting continues near Soledar in Donetsk Region. The enemy has been unsuccessfully trying to break through the defence of Ukrainian troops and suffering heavy losses.
On the outskirts of Bakhmut, the Special Operations Forces took control of a stronghold held by Russian troops.
