Estonian Ambassador to Ukraine Kaimo Kuusk said that his country would give Ukraine all 155 mm howitzers, the press service of the General Staff of the Ukrainian Armed Forces reports.

"We are giving all our 155-mm howitzers to Ukraine. And we want to create a precedent in this way so that other countries will not have any excuses why they cannot provide Ukraine with the necessary weapons to win the war," Kuusk said.

The General Staff reminded that the Estonian government approved the next and currently the largest package of military aid to Ukraine, totalling 113 million euros. It will include:

  • dozens of 155 mm FH-70 and 122 mm D-30 howitzers;
  • thousands of 155 mm artillery shells;
  • hundreds of M2 Karl-Gustaf anti-tank grenade launchers with ammunition;
  • means to support artillery units.

Thus, the total military assistance to Ukraine is more than 1% of Estonia's GDP. In addition, Estonia will continue to provide both basic and specialized training to the Ukrainian Armed Forces.

Previously, Estonia provided Ukraine with Javelin ATGMs, howitzers, anti-tank mines and grenade launchers, mortars, vehicles, communications equipment, medical supplies, personal protective equipment, and dry rations. Together with Germany, Estonia sent two field hospitals and medical supplies worth about 15 million euros to Ukraine. Estonia will donate a third field hospital together with the Netherlands and Norway, which have allocated EUR 7.8 million for this purpose.

The day before, Estonia, along with Latvia and Lithuania, also called on Germany to provide Ukraine with tanks.
