The Ministry of Defence (MoD) and the Armed Forces of Ukraine have zero tolerance for corruption, said Valeriy Zaluzhnyy, the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
"The Ministry of Defence, according to the law, is the central executive and military management body, which oversees the Armed Forces, the Main Intelligence Directorate and the State Special Transport Service. The MoD exercises military, political and administrative leadership of the Armed Forces,” he noted. “With the beginning of the full-scale invasion, the needs of the army have grown rapidly. Together, we are overcoming the most difficult challenges in our modern history with dignity. The Armed Forces are provided with ammunition, uniforms, and food of proper quality and in sufficient quantity."
According to the Commander-in-Chief, any information about possible corruption should be thoroughly checked, it should receive a legal assessment and appropriate response.
"Shifting the responsibility or blame of subordinates to managers is not only harmful but also contrary to the NATO management principles we are trying to adopt," said General Zaluzhnyy.
He added that this applies to both the MoD and the Armed Forces.
According to Dzerkalo Tyzhnia, the Ministry of Defenсe allegedly buys food for military personnel at two to three times the price of food in Kyiv stores. The MoD stated that the information about the content of food procurement, which has been spread in the public space, is being disseminated with signs of deliberate manipulation and is misleading.
