Border guards are not observing the creation of an offensive group in Belarus, the spokesman for the State Border Service of Ukraine, Andriy Demchenko, has said at a briefing, Ukrinform reports.

"The creation of an offensive group that would be ready to invade is not observed as of now. Russian units in Belarus are at training grounds where they are conducting exercises or undergoing training," he said.

According to the spokesperson, the redeployment of those units that have already completed their training is being finalized, while new units have been brought to Belarus since early January to conduct combat coordination and training with them.

The situation is closely monitored by Ukraine's intelligence units, including the State Border Service, which records what is happening on the other side of the border.

Therefore, defensive positions have been built up both along the border and in the border area. Engineering and fortification works are underway along the entire length of the border with Belarus.

According to British intelligence, the combat effectiveness of the Russian military trained in Belarus will be limited.
