The Russian occupiers are trying to "probe" the Ukrainian defence. It is happening on land, at sea, and in the air.
The Russians, in particular, are using aviation, which indicates that they are preparing to coordinate air and sea forces, said Nataliya Humeniuk, head of the Joint Press Centre of the Southern Defence Forces, during a telethon.
"We are also observing the dynamics of changes in the ship grouping: it is increasing and decreasing critically, missile carriers are going back and forth, just an hour ago, there were four of them, now there are three. This was likely a shift change, for example. Now there are 20 Kalibr missiles on standby in the Black Sea - one submarine and two surface launchers, and the manoeuvres do not stop," she said.
In addition, the enemy is using unmanned reconnaissance vehicles.
"We also understand that they strive for certain "bonds" and their phrase "we can repeat" (referring to the 2nd World War - ed.) can be projected to February this year," added Humeniuk, noting that the defence forces in all areas are ready for any development.
Regarding the subversive group at the mouth of the Dnipro River near Kherson, Humeniuk noted that the enemy is escalating the situation but does not have the capacity to force the river. The occupiers have brought newly mobilized soldiers to the left bank of the region, as they suffered high losses. But the enemy does not have high-quality personnel.
The Kinburn Spit continues to be in the "grey zone": both Ukrainians and the occupiers keep it under fire control, which makes it impossible to take over.
The Kinburn Spit is located in Mykolayiv Region. In December, Vitaliy Kim, the head of the Regional Military Administration, said that there had been no communication with the residents of this area for four months. It was impossible to deliver humanitarian aid there because the enemy was shelling all boats.
