Defence Minister Oleksiy Reznikov outlined the ways to prevent corruption in the ministry. He also reported on the staff search.
"We are currently acting in the following areas. First, we are rebooting the Anti-Corruption Department of the Ministry of Defence. We are looking for personnel. Secondly, we are forming a public anti-corruption mechanism and are open to cooperation," he wrote.
On Sunday evening, the Head of the Servant of the People faction, Davyd Arakhamiya, said that Reznikov was being "transferred" to the post of Strategic Industry Minister. However, the minister himself later told reporters that he had not been talked to about that, and if he were, he would refuse because he did not have the appropriate competence. Arakhamiya also said that Kirill Budanov, the current head of the Main Intelligence Directorate, would become the new defence minister instead of Reznikov. Budanov has not publicly commented on this.
Already on Monday, MPs reported that personnel changes in the defence sector were being cancelled this week, some of whom said on condition of anonymity that this was due to the Ramstein meeting.
