Russians decrease fire activity near Vuhledar – Defence Forces

A decline in the activity of Russian troops is recorded near Vuhledar, Donetsk Region, Col Oleksiy Dmytrashkivskyy, spokesman for the joint press centre of the Tavriya Defence Forces, has said on the air of the telethon.

"The enemy continues to storm Avdiyivka and Maryinka. Avdiyivka is strategically important for them at the moment in order to launch assault operations in the area of Vuhledar where the enemy has been slapped more than once. They critically need to encircle Avdiyivka, which they have been trying to do for two weeks," said the spokesman.

According to him, Russian troops lost about three companies of personnel, 15 tanks, nine armoured personnel carriers and other equipment in the total amount of 46 units. All the equipment was destroyed in the area of Spartak and Vodyane. It was in this direction that Russia conducted active hostilities yesterday.

He said that Russia had sent reserves to reinforce the 155th Brigade and additionally deployed two tank companies, which indicates serious losses on the part of the occupiers.
