Russian troops are focusing their main efforts on attempts to completely seize Donetsk and Luhansk regions, the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine said on the 389th day of Russia's full-scale invasion.
To achieve their goals, the Russians continue offensive actions in the Lyman, Bakhmut, Avdiyivka, Maryinka and Shakhtarske areas. Over the past day, Ukrainian defenders repelled 83 attacks in this sector. Bakhmut remains the epicentre of hostilities, the General Staff said.
Russia continued to use terror tactics against the civilian population of Ukraine. By shelling populated areas and critical infrastructure, Russia completely ignores the laws and customs of war.
Over the past day, the Russians launched 11 missile attacks, four of them against civilian infrastructure in Zaporizhzhya. There were also 16 air strikes and 99 attacks from multiple launch rocket systems.
The likelihood of further attacks throughout Ukraine remains high.
The aviation of the Ukrainian Defence Forces carried out 10 strikes on the clusters of Russian manpower. At the same time, a Shahed-136 UAV was shot down, while missile and artillery troops hit seven areas where Russian personnel and military equipment were concentrated.
