Law enforcement officers have served four people with a notice of suspicion of committing hooliganism on the territory of the Kyiv Pechersk Lavra National Reserve, the Kyiv city prosecutor's office has reported.

According to the investigation, on 19 April 2023, a group of people, acting in concert with each other, tried to get into one of the buildings of the Kyiv Pechersk Lavra National Reserve. The offenders, ignoring the remarks of law enforcement officials, started a scuffle with them, broke the security shutters and doors of the aforementioned building, and then illegally entered the premises.

It is noted that as a result of the measures taken, law enforcement officers managed to identify and detain four people involved in the commission of illegal actions. A preventive measure against the suspects is being selected.

Investigative actions are ongoing to establish all the circumstances of the criminal offence. The suspects face two to five years in prison.

According to the Kyiv police, law enforcement officers conducted a series of investigative actions and, with the help of analysts from the Kyiv police department, identified the four most active participants in the offence. They were detained in accordance with Article 208 of the Criminal Procedure Code of Ukraine and taken to the police station. They were two women, born in 1986 and 1984, and two men, born in 1983 and 2001.
