On the night of 9 May, Russians launched a missile attack on Kyiv from four Tu-95MS strategic bombers from the Caspian Sea, the Kyiv city state administration has said on Telegram.
The day before, the Russians deliberately deployed a record number of Shaheds to detect and exhaust Kyiv's air defences.
"But, just like at the front, the aggressor's plans failed. The launched cruise missiles, most likely of the Kh-101 (Kh-555) type, did not reach their targets. The air defence of the capital again worked perfectly," said Serhiy Popko, head of the Kyiv city military administration.
According to preliminary information, about 15 enemy air targets were detected and destroyed in the airspace around Kyiv. No hits were recorded. There were no casualties or serious damage caused by falling debris. The information is being updated and clarified. In Holosiyivskyy district, the missile debris fell into a yard and an open street, and in Shevchenkivskyy district, it landed on the road.
