The Ministry of Defence has announced that F-16 aircraft will appear in Ukraine's sky this autumn.
"This autumn! The best air force blockbuster of all time! F-16 in the sky of Ukraine! We will defend our sky!" it tweeted.
Earlier, the United States and other G7 member states agreed to send F-16 fighter jets to Ukraine.
On Friday, 19 May, President Joe Biden told the G7 leaders that the United States would support efforts to train Ukrainian pilots on modern aircraft, including F-16s. In addition, in recent weeks, the Biden administration signaled to European allies that the United States would allow them to export F-16s to Ukraine.
British Prime Minister Rishi Sunak noted that the United Kingdom is ready to play a major role in the coalition of aircraft for Ukraine in terms of pilot training. Dutch Prime Minister Mark Rutte said that there is no taboo on providing Ukraine with F-16s.
