Presidents of Ukraine and the United States Volodymyr Zelenskyy and Joe Biden met in Japan at the G7 summit, according to CNN.
"US President Joe Biden is meeting Ukrainian leader Volodymyr Zelenskyy in Hiroshima on the sidelines of the G7 summit," the statement said.
Zelenskyy also confirmed meeting the US president.
The two leaders discussed further cooperation to strengthen Ukraine's defence capabilities and the formula for peace.
"I met US President Joseph Biden in Japan. Many thanks from our people for the strong financial assistance to Ukraine from the United States, which totals $37 billion, as well as for a new military assistance package worth $375 million," Zelenskyy said on Telegram.
On 20 May, Zelenskyy arrived in Hiroshima for the G7 leaders' summit, where he met a number of partners and friends of Ukraine. The president raised the issue of the Ukrainian peace formula and the situation at the frontline. In particular, during his meeting with European Council President Charles Michel, the parties discussed security, defence, economy and common policy.
