Today, on 9 June, the Kyiv regional council supported the draft decision of the European Solidarity faction to ban the activities of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church of the Moscow Patriarchate (UOC-MP) in the region, councilor Roman Tytykalo has said.

"The deputies of the regional council consider the activities of religious organisations (associations) that have a proven ecclesiastical and canonical connection with the aggressor state (Russia) to be in violation of state interests and threaten national security," Tytykalo said.

He stressed that a religious organisation that is actually controlled by the aggressor state and supports its crimes cannot operate on the territory of Ukraine.

Tytykalo added that the Kyiv regional council asks parliament to immediately consider the bills banning the activities of the UOC-MP.
