Due to Russian attacks, Ukraine may be left without ports in 2-3 months, so we need new air defence systems, stated the spokeswoman of the Defence Forces of OC "South" Natalya Humenyuk to Le Monde.

"We need anti-missile and anti-aircraft defences. Reinforced, powerful, modern and capable of countering the type of missiles the enemy is using against us," she said.

Humenyuk emphasised that the Ukrainian forces need American F-16 fighter falcons capable of striking Russian weapons systems and ships used to bombard southern Ukraine.

"Despite the fact that Ukraine already has Western defence systems, including the high-tech American anti-missile complex Patriot, Russia is improving its tactics every time and does not stop," added the spokeswoman of the Southern Defence Forces.

Humenyuk reminded that the occupiers launch cruise, hypersonic and anti-ship missiles at the same time in order to mislead air defence means.

Currently, the Russians have blocked almost all Ukrainian ports, and no ship can leave them.

"In two or three months, we may not have a single port left... They want to dominate the Black Sea. They want to have a monopoly on grain. They want to destroy Ukraine as a country capable of feeding the whole world," Humenyuk emphasised.

President Volodymyr Zelenskyy announced the strengthening of the Ukrainian air defence system. According to him, it "will be directed to where it is most needed now."

After July 17, when Russia one-sidely withdrew from the grain agreement, the aggressor country began daily shelling the grain infrastructure of southern Ukraine. After that, Zelenskyy announced more air defence, artillery and long-range weapons for Ukraine. These are new support packages from partners.
