Approximately 65% of educational institutions in Ukraine have shelters, according to Deputy Minister of Education and Science Andriy Vitrenko.

The government has allocated a separate subvention of UAH 1.5 billion for the provision and additional arrangement of shelters. The funds have already been allocated to the regions, and it is now the responsibility of the regional authorities to equip shelters where they are lacking.

Currently, 95% of vocational education institutions, 75% of schools, and 55% of kindergartens have shelters.

The Education Ministry has recommended that Ukrainian educational institutions may switch to offline learning from 1 September, conditional on the availability of shelters for students. Vitrenko expressed confidence that the regional authorities will make every effort to ensure that children can study in full-time educational institutions by the given deadline.
