The most intense fighting is taking place in the Kupyansk sector, where Russia is redeploying forces from the Avdiyivka sector, Deputy Defence Minister Hanna Malyar has told the news telethon.

"Judging by the intensity of engagements, the situation is the hottest in the Kupyansk sector. Indeed, the enemy is pulling up forces there, and we record that they are pulling up forces from the Avdiyivka sector, where they have not been able to advance for more than a year. And not only to Kupyansk, they are also pulling up forces to Bakhmut. Why? Because we are on the offensive there, and they cannot withstand this advance either," Malyar said.

"I can assure you that we are also taking appropriate measures to resist and prevent the enemy from advancing along its line of attack. To make it clear, in addition to the soldiers who are directly engaged in this resistance on the front line, our staffs are working around the clock, and the command is directly in the combat zone," said Malyar.

According to her, the Defence Forces are advancing in the south.

"There are certain advances in the south, and there, too, the enemy's potential is being destroyed in large numbers, and the enemy is resisting: they are mining, reinforcing key dominant heights with concrete and engineering fortifications. But nevertheless, the destruction of their defence capabilities leads to the fact that we are on the move," she added.
