SBU together with National Anti-Corruption Bureau (NACB) exposed the MP who "sold" the land of the National Academy of Agrarian Sciences for $85,000, stated in the press release of the special service.
As sources in the law enforcement agencies informed Lb.ua, we are talking about Anatoliy Hunko.
The official promised the businessman to give the state land plots for cultivation.
"Law enforcement officers documented the criminal activities of the MP and caught him red-handed when he received the first part of the illegal benefit in the amount of $85,000," the message states.
Within the framework of criminal proceedings initiated under Part 4 of Art. 368 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (acceptance of an offer, promise or receipt of an illegal benefit by an official), the issue of reporting suspicion to the MP and two of his associates is resolved.
An investigation is ongoing to establish all the circumstances of the crime and bring the culprits to justice. They face up to 12 years in prison with confiscation of property.
In Odesa Region a local ex-deputy was detained in the case of appropriation of 15 land plots on the Black Sea coast. The investigation established that the mechanism of illegal alienation of land for the total amount of 15mn hryvnias consisted in the documents forgery.
