For more than three years, the Parliament has not renewed party financial reporting to the NACP, which was introduced as a condition for EU visa-free travel back in 2015.

Today President Volodymyr Zelenskyy signed the law on the return of party reporting.

This is evidenced by the card of draft law No. 9419-1 on the website of the Verkhovna Rada.

On 23 August, the Verkhovna Rada adopted the Law on Amendments to Certain Legislative Acts of Ukraine on Minimising Potential Oligarchic Influence on Political Parties, Improving Mechanisms of Public Financing and State Control over the Activities of Political Parties.

On 2 April 2020, a law came into force that introduced a delay for political parties in submitting quarterly reports on property, income, expenses and financial liabilities.

As a result, political parties effectively stopped submitting financial reports. As of October 2021, only 7.4% of political parties registered in Ukraine had submitted financial reports.

The adoption of this law will generally allow the NACP to exercise state control over compliance with the legal restrictions on the financing of political parties.
