Ukraine has joined the Board of Governors of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) for 2023-2025, posts President Volodymyr Zelenskyy on X.
He also thanked the countries that supported Ukraine's application.
"Ukraine has joined the IAEA Board of Governors for 2023-2025. I thank every country that supported our application," Zelenskyy wrote.
He said that Ukraine remains a reliable international partner in the field of nuclear energy and will make every effort to strengthen the important role of the IAEA and strengthen nuclear safety and security.
"We all have to work together - everyone in the world who values security - to put an end to all types of nuclear blackmail that Russia is trying to make the norm. Nuclear and radiation safety must be guaranteed," Zelenskyy adds.
