Ukraine and Romania have signed a declaration of strategic partnership, covering political, economic, social and security issues, President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has announced on Telegram.
"On 10 October, I held meaningful and fruitful talks with Mr President of Romania. I would like to note the agreement on the strategic partnership between Ukraine and Romania. We are ready to build this level of relations. We have signed a bilateral declaration that sets out the key points of our cooperation: security cooperation, in particular in the Black Sea region, support for our Formula for Peace, expansion of economic and logistics cooperation, transport links, simplification of border crossing procedures, opening of new border crossing points," he said.
Romanian President Klaus Iohannis stressed that his country views relations with Ukraine in the long term and reaffirmed its commitment to support Ukraine in the war against Russia "as long as it takes".
Zelenskyy arrived in Romania today on a visit. He has already announced the creation of a new corridor for Ukrainian grain exports through Moldova and Romania.
