The head of the digital transformation ministry, Mykhaylo Fedorov, said that Ukrainians have created a radio that cannot be jammed by Russians.
"The enemy is constantly using electronic warfare (EW) to counter the Defence Forces. To ensure that our military always have communication and can effectively coordinate the work of units, Ukrainian developers have created the Himera radio station," Fedorov said.
He noted that this is a unique technology that works under enemy electronic warfare. Russians cannot block the radio's signals and decrypt it. The development holds a charge for up to 4 days.
The radio can also be integrated into a situational awareness system or used as a GPS beacon to search for and evacuate soldiers. The radio system can be controlled simply through an app on your phone.
The minister noted that Himera was named the best defence-tech startup at IT Arena 2023 and received $10,000 to scale and develop the product.
