President Volodymyr Zelenskyy met US Special Representative for Ukraine's Economic Recovery Penny Pritzker, who is on a visit to Ukraine.

"Your visit is a signal of strong support. It is important for us to understand that the United States is ready to help Ukraine get through the winter and protect critical infrastructure," Zelenskyy said.

They discussed the urgent needs to strengthen Ukraine's air defence system, ensure its macro-financial stability in 2024, and use frozen Russian assets as a significant source of funds for Ukraine's reconstruction.

According to Zelenskyy, reconstruction projects require private investment. Therefore, the Ukrainian side is counting on the active involvement of American businesses in long-term projects in the most promising sectors of the Ukrainian economy. These include agriculture, mechanical engineering, chemical industry, etc.

"Of particular interest is the participation of American companies in the reconstruction of the Ukrainian energy system. This is especially important on the eve of the winter period when the aggressor is expected to intensify attacks on energy infrastructure," the president said.

He noted that in order to attract investment, it is necessary to develop risk guarantee mechanisms.
