Nikopol Ferroalloy Plant has announced a suspension of operations due to Russian shelling, according to the company's website.

"Due to the unpredictable actions of the occupiers, JSC NFP may experience interruptions in the supply of energy resources - electricity and water... In order to preserve the furnace units, the administration of NFP JSC has decided to temporarily suspend the production of ferroalloy products. In the meantime, the company will continue to carry out construction and repair work related to the modernisation of equipment and power lines, which have been repeatedly damaged by shelling," the company said.

The company's management has decided that each employee who will not be involved in the above-mentioned work will continue to be paid salary in accordance with the current legislation.

"After the threat of shelling of Ukraine's power system has been eliminated, Naftogaz will be ready to continue its sustainable operation," the company added.

Zaporizhzhya Ferroalloy Plant, which together with NFP is part of Ihor Kolomoyskyy's Privat Group, has also suspended its operations.
