Two rescuers, Vitaliy Nakaryakov and Serhiy Dorohokuplya, were killed during a repeated missile attack on a settlement in Zaporizhzhya District.

"Vitaliy Nakaryakov was 31 years old. His colleague and fellow rescuer Serhiy Dorohokuplya was 34. It would seem that they had their whole lives ahead of them. If not for the damned enemy missiles that ended two young lives on 15 November. The insidious ruscists, knowing that rescuers were working at the site, shelled a settlement in Zaporizhzhya District again," said Yuriy Malashko, head of the Zaporizhzhya regional military administration.

Vitaliy Nakaryakov is a senior firefighter and rescuer with the State Emergency Service of Ukraine, originally from Enerhodar, a master sergeant with the Civil Protection Service. He took part in the defence of Ukraine's borders in the east and was awarded the Badge for Courage in an Emergency in the spring of 2023. The man is survived by his wife and three children.

Serhiy Dorohokuplya is a firefighter and rescuer, sergeant of the Civil Protection Service. Before the occupation of Vasylivka District by Russian troops, he worked at the fire and rescue unit of Mykhaylivka village. The man is survived by his sister and parents.

A pre-trial investigation into the deaths of the rescuers was initiated under the procedural control of the Zaporizhzhya regional prosecutor's office under Part 2 of Article 438 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (violation of the laws and customs of war, combined with premeditated murder).
