President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy had a phone conversation with Prime Minister of the United Kingdom Rishi Sunak. Zelenskyy focused on the strengthening of the army and air defence on the eve of winter, his press service reports.

He thanked the United Kingdom for the continued defence and political support in the context of full-scale Russian aggression.

Taking into account the results of the visits to the frontline in the south and east of Ukraine, the Zelenskyy briefed Sunak on the priority needs to enhance the defence capabilities of Ukrainian soldiers and strengthen the air shield.

The leaders discussed further macro-financial support for Ukraine and coordinated steps on the eve of important international events.

They also discussed the prospects of Ukraine's accession to NATO and the importance of the meeting of national security and foreign policy advisers held in Malta in October.

On the eve of winter, the UK provided equipment and winter clothing for the Ukrainian military. These included dry rations, helmets, winter clothing sets and bulletproof vests.
