History will judge harshly those who turn away from supporting freedom. The United States is not turning its back on Ukraine. This was stated by US President Joe Biden during a joint press conference with Volodymyr Zelenskyy in Washington.

"I am not turning my back on Ukraine, and neither are the American people. There is a clear bipartisan majority of people in the United States and in Congress who support your country. They understand, as I do, that Ukraine's success and its ability to deter future aggression are critical to the security of the world," Biden said.

The President also said that it is necessary to change the migration system in the United States, he is ready to compromise with Congress, and Republicans and Democrats are currently working to achieve it.

"Holding aid to Ukraine, which is supported by both parties, hostage is wrong," Biden said, adding that he is asking for approval of aid to Israel in its war against Hamas.

He stressed that Ukraine's freedom is at stake now, but if we don't stop Putin, the freedom of everyone almost everywhere will be at risk.

"Putin will continue to advance, and other aggressors everywhere will try to take what they can by force," the US president stressed.

Joe Biden added that Putin is counting on the US failure to help Ukraine.

"We must show him that he is wrong," the US leader said.

"And NATO will be in Ukraine's future, no doubt. But, as we said in Vilnius, Ukraine will become a NATO member when all Allies agree and all conditions are met. And now we want to make sure that they win the war," Joe Biden said when asked whether Ukraine could be invited to join NATO at its summit in Washington in 2024.
