The Ukrainian Defence Ministry's Main Intelligence Directorate has confirmed that engagements took place near the village of Terebreno in Russia's Belgorod Region.
As a result of the attack carried out by opponents of the Kremlin regime, a platoon stronghold of Russian troops was destroyed.
"An unexpected attack on the positions of the army units of terrorist Russia caused a panic reaction among the personnel of the local garrison," the military intelligence said.
Therefore, chaotic artillery fire was opened on the surrounding villages on the orders of the local commanders of Russian troops.
