European institutions and EU member states have pledged to provide at least €21 billion in military assistance to Ukraine in 2024, High Representative of the European Union for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy Josep Borrell has said following an informal meeting of EU defence ministers, Yevropeyska Pravda reports.
"All of us, the EU member states and European institutions, have so far provided Ukraine with €28 billion worth of military equipment. These are not forecasts and expectations, this is reality. According to the list provided by the member states, we are talking about €21 billion in military aid for Ukraine, which is included in the budgets for 2024," Borrell said.
He noted that the figure is not final as some EU member states have not yet announced the committed amounts.
