Russia continues an active offensive in many areas of the frontline, according to Commander-in-Chief Oleksandr Syrskyy.
The situation is particularly tense in the Avdiyivka and Zaporizhzhya sectors. There, Russian assault units are trying to break through the defences of our troops and capture the localities of Tonenke, Orlivka, Semenivka, Berdychi and Krasnohorivka, said Commander-in-Chief Oleksandr Syrskyy.
"Fierce fighting continues in the areas of Verbove and Robotyne, over which the enemy is trying to regain control," said the Chief of Staff.
Syrskyy said that while working in the Donetsk TOT units holding the defence in the Avdiyivka sector, "some commanders showed certain miscalculations in the command of the situation and assessment of the enemy, which directly affected the stability of the defence in certain areas". Syrskyy says he has taken steps to remedy the situation on the ground, with additional resources of ammunition and material, as well as the necessary reserves.
"I would like to commend the courage, resilience and heroism of the soldiers of the 3rd Assault Brigade and the 25th Airborne Brigade. With their brave and decisive actions, they knocked out the enemy who broke through to the outskirts of Orlivka," he added.
