US President Joe Biden has signed an executive order to provide $400 million in aid to Ukraine.

The text of the document was published on the White House website.

Biden has delegated to the Secretary of State the authority to allocate up to $400 million for defence goods and services of the Department of Defence, as well as "military education and training to assist Ukraine".

Earlier, Politico reported that the aid package would include the transfer of weapons already in US warehouses. The package includes new Patriot missiles, Stinger anti-aircraft missiles, Bradley fighting vehicles, mine-clearing vehicles, Javelin anti-armour systems and other ammunition.

According to the US Department of Defence, the aid package includes

  • additional ammunition for the Patriot air defence system;
  • additional ammunition for the NASAMS air defence system;
  • Stinger missiles;
  • equipment to integrate Western launchers, missiles and radars with Ukrainian systems;
  • additional HIMARS and ammunition;
  • 155-mm and 105-mm artillery shells;
  • Bradley infantry fighting vehicle;
  • M113 APCs;
  • Mine-resistant armoured personnel carriers (MRAP);
  • trailers for transporting heavy equipment;
  • TOW anti-tank missiles;
  • Javelin anti-tank systems and AT-4 anti-tank grenade launchers;
  • high-precision aerial munitions;
  • HARM anti-radar missiles;
  • small arms and additional ammunition for small arms and grenades;
  • explosive munitions and obstacle clearance equipment;
  • coastal and river patrol boats;
  • chemical, biological, radiological and nuclear defence equipment;
  • spare parts, maintenance equipment and other auxiliary equipment.
