In Novobavarskyy district of Kharkiv, where the Russian army hit a five-storey building, the number of casualties increased to nine. The search operation is ongoing. 

This was reported by the Kharkiv Regional Prosecutor's Office and the head of the Kharkiv Regional Military Administration, Oleh Synyehubov. 

At 16.41, Synyehubov wrote that the number of victims had increased to 9. 

‘As of now, we know about 9 people who died as a result of the hostile shelling of Novobavarskyy district of Kharkiv. Among them are three women aged 39, 68 and 86 and four men aged 52, 64, 41 and 28. This afternoon, rescuers found the bodies of two more victims. Their identities are being established,' he wrote in a Telegram. 

Earlier, the prosecutor's office reported eight dead. Among them are three women aged 39, 68 and 86 and four men aged 52, 64, 41 and 28. According to prosecutors, rescuers found the body of the eighth victim this morning. Measures are being taken to identify the deceased person.

‘Prosecutors, together with police investigators, continue to work at the scene of another terrorist act of the Russian Federation against the civilian population of Kharkiv,’ the prosecutor's office said.

The search for the victims is complicated by significant damage to the entrance from the fifth to the first floor.
