The Kharkiv Regional Prosecutor's Office has launched a pre-trial investigation into the violation of the laws and customs of war.
It is about the ill-treatment of captured Ukrainian soldiers in the Kharkiv sector. Prosecutors found the video while monitoring social media, the prosecutor's office said.
In the video, Russian soldiers beat Ukrainian soldiers and mimic an execution by firing an automatic weapon near the head of one of the prisoners of war.
"In addition, in the video, the occupiers apply psychological pressure to Ukrainian defenders, forcing them to sing the USSR anthem," the prosecutor's office added.
Such actions are a violation of the Geneva Conventions, according to which prisoners of war are entitled to humane treatment.
Those involved in the abuse of Ukrainians are being sought.
