Two criminals who tried to get their people appointed to senior positions in the State Customs Service for a bribe have been served with suspicion notices.
This was reported by the Specialised Anti-Corruption Prosecutor's Office.
The scheme was exposed by the SAPO and the NABU.
The investigation established that the offenders offered the leadership of the State Customs Service USD 1 million for the appointment of their person to the post of head of Lviv Customs, another USD 500 thousand and USD 200 thousand for the posts of heads of Volyn and Chernivtsi customs, respectively.
At the same time, the group members promised the management of the State Customs Service half of the proceeds of illegal activities at the customs.
One person who initiated the crime has been detained. The investigation is ongoing.
