One of the nuclear power units at one of the nuclear power plants has been connected to the grid after scheduled repairs were completed ahead of schedule, the Ministry of Energy reports.
It is noted that this will significantly affect the stability of the power system and reduce the existing electricity shortage.
The Ministry of Energy also reported that in the western and partially southern regions, power supply restrictions are scheduled for the period from 18:00 to 24:00. In all other regions, the restrictions will be in effect from 0:00 to 24:00.
However, the Ministry notes that the situation in the energy sector remains difficult. There is a significant shortage of generating capacity in the system due to massive Russian attacks since spring this year, and shelling continues, especially in the frontline and border areas.
Substations and power transmission lines often come under fire. Over the past day, Ukraine's power system has been receiving surplus electricity from the Polish power system.
As of today, 24 July, the power outage schedules in Ukraine have been cancelled until 4pm, and for Odesa Region - until 6pm.
