Some explosions were heard in the temporarily occupied Crimea this night. Russians claimed a strike with ATACMS ballistic missiles, Militarnyy writes, citing the Crimean Wind telegram channel.
The objects of the Russian military near Sevastopol were hit. The sounds of explosions were also heard in Simferopol, Saky and Yevpatoriya at night.
The occupation administration claimed that Russian air defence was operating over the peninsula.
NASA's satellite fire monitoring system had detected fires at Russian air defence positions near Balaklava. The time period from 1:57 to 2:20, when the fires were detected, coincides with the time of the missile attack on Russian targets near Sevastopol.
At the same time, Crimean Wind points out that the fires could have occurred either after the launch of anti-aircraft missiles or after hits on Russian air defence positions.
After the first explosions in Crimea on the night of 2 August, the mayor of Sevastopol, Mikhail Razvozhayev, said that air defences were operating in the city.
The occupiers claimed that the Ukrainian Armed Forces attacked the temporarily occupied peninsula with ATACMS ballistic missiles.
The missiles were allegedly shot down over Sevastopol, which is why two streets were even closed until around 12:00 to collect all explosive items.
In addition, the occupation administration decided to evacuate the residents of one of the nine-storey buildings to remove a part of the missile that allegedly broke through the roof and got stuck on the technical floor of the building.
