The Associated Press reported that several US officials, speaking on condition of anonymity, announced to journalists a new military aid package worth $125 million.
The Ukrainian Armed Forces will receive missiles for air defence and HIMARS systems, Javelin and other armoured target engagement systems, anti-drone and electronic warfare systems, 105mm and 155mm artillery shells, as well as transport and other equipment.
The agency notes that the aid comes despite Washington's attempts to understand the goals and prospects of the Kursk operation of the Defence Forces. The Pentagon says that Ukraine has the right to use American weapons to counter the occupiers in the border areas.
The official announcement of the new aid package is expected on Friday, the eve of Ukraine's Independence Day.
