In the morning, SBU officers came to the Holy Vvedenskyy Monastery (UOC-MP) with searches. This was reported by sources to LB.ua.
According to the sources, there is information that some local clergymen are spreading Kremlin propaganda and supporting Russia's war against Ukraine. Details of the searches are still unknown.
The Holy Vvedenskyy Monastery in Kyiv is a monastery founded in the late 19th and early 20th centuries. It belongs to the UOC-MP.
The activities of religious organisations affiliated with the Russian Orthodox Church are prohibited in Ukraine, and the government is currently drafting legislation to verify such links and revoke their registration. However, even before the law was passed, the SBU conducted searches when it received information about hostile activities in religious organisations.
As of January, the SBU had opened seven proceedings against UOC-MP clergy.
