Naftogaz Group has signed an agreement under which the manufacturer will supply power generating equipment to Ukraine with grants from the Norwegian government and with the organisational participation of UNDP, which will provide 80 MW of additional capacity for the Ukrainian power grid. This will help to provide additional electricity and heat generation for residents of one of the regions, the press service of Naftogaz reports.
Earlier, the Norwegian government's official website reported that an additional 1.5 billion kroner (about 127 million euros) would be allocated for Ukraine's energy needs, part of which would be used to purchase power generation equipment for Naftogaz Group.
"We are grateful to our Norwegian partners for their help in strengthening Ukraine's energy infrastructure, which continues to suffer from hostile attacks. We appreciate Norway's consistent support since the beginning of the full-scale war," said Oleksiy Chernyshov, CEO of Naftogaz Group.
Earlier, Naftogaz reported that it plans to expand the capacity of its TPP plants by more than 200 MW to generate additional electricity in 2025.
